In the world of elite infielding, many attributes are often overlooked, yet they play a crucial role in defining success. One area that is frequently neglected is steal coverage and the art of applying tags.
Even something as seemingly minor as arriving at the base late can make a significant difference in the outcome of a game. This often stems from poor pre-pitch planning, lack of pre-pitch anticipation, and ineffective pre-pitch communication among teammates. Being fully prepared and aware can turn a potential stolen base into an out, shifting the momentum in your favor.
It’s these little details that compound to create big results. Mastering the fundamentals, staying engaged in the game, and communicating effectively can elevate your performance and that of your entire team. Remember, little things make BIG things happen!

This summer, elevate your game while having the time of your life at the Trosky Elite Infield Camp & Surf Experience in Waco, Texas! Designed for players in grades 5-12, this one-of-a-kind camp offers elite-level infield training combined with exciting water sports for both players and their families.
Over the course of three action-packed days, players will receive advanced infield instruction directly from Coach Nate Trosky and the Trosky Baseball team at the Lorena Little League Fields. But that’s not all! After the hard work on the field, players and their families will have exclusive access to Waco Surf Park. Each player and parent will enjoy three private surf sessions, plus access to water park attractions including three water slides, a lazy river, and much more. Check out this highlight from the episode that will transform the way you approach infield plays!
"Witt Jr. goes to his right. When you throw, the posture of the play is stand up. Stand up to get leverage, right? He dies, stands up to get leverage. The posture of the play requires upright posture, okay? Ball to your left, posture is low, ball to your right, posture is high. That’s the
posture of the play. You don’t fight the posture of the play. That’s how you flow."

When Bobby Witt Jr. goes to his right, watch how his upright posture allows him to generate leverage for a powerful, precise throw. His ability to stay with the posture is what allows him to get rid of the ball so quickly and with such authority. Whether it's a short or long throw, the right
posture is key.
Ball to your Left: Low posture.
Ball to your Right: High Posture
The Flow? You ride the posture to maximize leverage and power.
Watch Bobby’s throw in the clip as his posture guides the ball up and out, delivering it straight as an arrow, with great carry, V-low, and spin—a bullet that leaves no doubt. This is a beautiful play and an excellent example of how posture is the foundation of all great throws.
